Ok, so here goes. Does one always hate to write about one's self? Well, I do, ever since graduate school because when you go into counseling you have to examine everything about yourself before they even let you start messing with someone else's life ;). Anyway, as the title states I am an Army wife and a mommy, exclusively at the moment. I am sure at one time there were a few other parts of me, but I forget now. I am sure some of you other mommies can relate to that. I am definitely the less organized of our mommy collective and am so not a neat freak, I want to be (sometimes), but never can get it all done to achieve that title. Can anyone else relate? My husband and I have been married almost twelve years and have two simply adorably rotten children who both turn three (our boy) and one (our girl) in 18 days and 15 days respectively. Dozer*, our boy is about as sweet and as tough as they come, such a beautiful combination, I pray every night for both to develop just as strong in him. He loves his sissy with his whole heart and she loves him. I know I will never be able to make her laugh like he does. He loves sand, he played for five hours just today in his sandbox and sissy was right there with him for most of it. I think that is what I enjoy most about being a parent, being able to watch them grow and interact together, seeing how they shape one another. Badger* is as ornery as an almost one year old can be, she will tear something away from her brother and give him the "what you gonna do now" look like I have never seen before. The boy is not a sleeper, but the girl is, any other hands raised out there? What is up with that?! We are big readers, Dozer can read longer than he will play with sand and I love that!
Over all as a parent I am an instinctual type of parent, I guess. Research is behind most decisions, I follow what I feel, look it up, and see if I am right ;) I am a small town girl who has lived more places than I ever thought I would and am loving it. I have done the daily parenting thing on my own for most of our children's lives. My husband has been deployed twice in the last three years and is currently deployed now.
Our blog is now growing up just as our kids are already doing and what I hope to bring to our mommy group here on Kid Buy Products is my take on growing up as well. I try to find ideas and products that can make life a little smoother, happier, and healthier. I like simple, though I can be in awe of fancy. It has to be different or offer something different than what is already out there for me to look twice. There is so much out there now, even more than when our son was born and it can get pretty overwhelming. Should I try this or this or this? I hope you can look to us for different points of view on what does and does not work for us. We have a pretty wide range of ages, experiences, and locations on our little blog. I hope to have fun with it and you!
*Duh! Not their real names.
