Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Nadia who loved to sleep. When she was a wee baby of only 6 short weeks, she learned how to sleep through the night. The who
le night. Her mommy and daddy were tricked into thinking that all babies were as well behaved as their perfect little princess. Two short years later, the princess' parents were blessed with a handsome, but evil prince named Isaac. He was so sweet and happy and cuddly during the day and soon grew to be wonderfully chubby, but the evil prince HATED sleeping. He found great pleasure in torturing his mommy by waking up every hour or two all night long. Sometimes he wanted to eat, sometimes he just needed a pacifier, but most of the time, he just wanted to snuggle up in his parents' bed. The long nights stretched on for months and months, and the evil prince's mommy thought there was no end in sight. She truly believed that she might never sleep again. She began drinking coffee. This helped some, but only got the mommy through the morning. She tried taking naps, but her home fell into such disrepair that she could no longer continue napping every afternoon. Just when the mommy thought she might perish from the lack of sleep, she stumbled upon what might be the best baby product ever: the Grobag baby sleeping bag.
The exhausted mommy put her prince down for a nap inside his new sleeping bag two days ago, and he slept for 3 1/2 glorious hours! This was the longest stretch of sleep of his entire 6 month life. When the mommy says he slept, she means he didn't even need to have his pacifier reinserted. Not once during the entire nap. The prince woke up smiling and tried to tell his mommy all about ho
w much more comfortable he was in his new sleeping bag. He was no longer cold, but warm and toasty. The mommy wasn't convinced that it could be so easy, so she tried the sleeping bag again that night. Low and behold, the little prince slept just as soundly and only woke up once to eat. No pacifier reinsertion needed again. This was unheard of in the royal household. Still believing that it might just be a fluke, the mommy tried nap time again the next day. This time, the prince slept for 4 hours! Yes, you read that right, 4 hours! The mommy got so much done around the house and felt very content and accomplished when her little prince woke up smiling and laughing again. That night, the prince went to bed at 8:30, slept until midnight, ate a little snack , and slept until 5:00 in the morning. This was the longest stretch of sleep that the prince's mommy has had in over 6 months! She's now convinced that this is no coincidence. Her little prince has clearly been too cold, or just likes the extra weight of the sleeping bag on his body when he sleeps. Who knows why the Grobag baby sleeping bag is working, but it is.
The not-so-evil prince's mommy now considers the Grobag baby sleeping bag to be a necessity in their castle. She gives it her 100% seal of approval and will be buying one as a gift for all the new babies that she knows. If you are currently a sleep-deprived parent to an sleep-hating prince or princess, you need to give the Grobag baby sleeping bag a try. It worked in this royal household, and hopefully it will work in yours. Now the mommy only wishes that her little princess could learn how to pee on the potty... But, that's another story.
The End
More details and the "official" review...
The Grobag baby sleeping bag is the number one selling baby sleeping product in both the U.K. and Australia and has just recently been introduced in the United States through Keen Distribution. It is designed to help keep your infant or toddler warm while reducing the risk of SIDS by eliminating loose bedding. Not only does it help reduce lack of sleep because your child wakes up cold, but you can sleep comfortably knowing that your child is not being smothered by a blanket or sheet. The sleeping bag is part of the Grobag safe sleeping system which includes theGrobag swaddling wrap as well as the new Grobag Egg digital room thermometer/nightlight.
What really makes the Grobag baby sleeping bag unique is that it comes in a variety of TOGs (a thermal rating of a garment) and also comes with a handy little guide to help you decide how to dress your little one based on the room temperature. I found the TOGs to be very helpful when choosing the correct weight for our home. We generally keep the temperature between 70-75 degrees in our home; so, we didn't want a bag that was too heavy for the summer months which means we chose a 1.0 TOG. In the winter when our Chicago condo becomes an igloo, we'll clearly want to buy a bag with a higher TOG.
The Grobag baby sleeping bag has a handful of unique features that have been throughly tested to ensure the safety of your child. The arm hole and neck sizes have been designed with upmost safety in mind. Each package comes with information and advice on how to use the product and about how to optimize the sleeping conditions for your child. They've also created the bags in sizes that allow optimal air flow to avoid overheating. Baby Ike is a world-class squirmer when he sleeps and I've never seen the bag in a position that I feel would compromise his safety. It stays down around his shoulders and doesn't wrap around his body. I've also never removed him from the sleeping bag and felt like he was overly warm. Overall, this seems to be a very well-thought out and safely designed product.
Here's the review: (based on a four-star scale)
Function ****-I feel completely comfortable zipping Isaac up into his sleeping bag every time that he goes to sleep. He's a pretty restless sleeper and tends to do a lot of turning from side to side. The Grobag baby sleeping bag seems to move with him, and I've yet to go in and find him tangled up inside of it. All I do is simply lay the bag out flat, rest Isaac on top, zip up the top and then snap the shoulders. It's design is very user friendly. You can also machine wash and dry them!
Style **** - You have some very cute options available to you. Ours is a very basic blue and white stripe with a little truck on the front. I love the bright stripey ones, though. There's a cute polka dot travel version and an organic option as well. Honestly though, I don't care what they look like because I'M ASLEEP!
Price ***-You can buy the Grobag directly from Keen Distribution who has brought the product to the U.S. The prices range from around $35 to up to $40 depending on the style. While this might seem pricey for a parent whose child actually sleeps, those of you out there who are in as desperate need of some solid sleep as much as I was might consider it a small price to pay for some uninterrupted snooze time.
Overall Rating **** - I'm writing this review after having just had the best sleep that I've had in months, so it might be a little biased, but this Grobag sleeping bag is working to change my life! I feel so much more energetic and positive about life in general today. Like I said, if you have a kid that doesn't sleep, it's definitely worth a shot.
Want to win a Grobag sleeping bag for your child? Visit the Keen Distribution website and check out all the fun styles that the Grobag sleeping bag is available in. Choose your favorite design and tell us what it is. All entries must be received by midnight on Friday, August 29th. Please only one entry per household and you must be 18 or older to win. We will choose one winner using random.org. Feel free to leave your email so that we can contact you when you win, but also know that we will be submitting winner info to Prizey Winners. love the idea and the homegrown organic.. No real horror stories- just have a collection of sunglasses for work
I like jungle friends
I would definately pick the 'Homegrown Organic'! However, if the 'Happy Times' came in organic, I would have chosen that design - trust me, any night where he might gasp sleep through, would be a happy time. I'm on high alert all night, half asleep, half listening for the sound that he's spit out his 'suckie' and stirring. If I'm not there right away to pop it back in, the world has come to an end, and there's no telling how long he'll be up for >.<
If this really works, it would be a God send!

I am going with the Home Grown too. I wish the Little Pirate came in Organic. But that is okay that are all cute as a button!
My only horror story, is being punched a couple times, by accident. I have started sleeping in the other room most nights. yuck. we love each other though. actually it is quite funny.

I just love the happy times Grobag. These are just adorable and I would love to win this to use with our baby boy due in December. Thanks for the chance to win. ecghick@yahoo.com
Bubble design. Horror story? How about three kids in a row that wouldn't sleep through the night until after age 18 months. My three yr old still gets up half the time and comes into our bed. Same with my 20 month old. Wakes up every night and won't go to sleep again unless he's in our bed with a bottle.
My favorite is Little Bear. Too cute!
My favorite was the "home grown organic" but they are all cute! No funny stories to date, and maybe that's a good thing!

Would pick the Happy Times Grobag to give my granddaughter. Her baby is due in the middle of winter and she is moving to NJ, so this would be great.
No horror stories for me, in fact I am one of the (apparently) few parents who had absolutely no trouble with kids sleeping through the night. Both of mine slept through from about 8pm to 6am, from 6 wks on. Of course, didn't dare say anything to friends with babies--they would have slaughtered me and felt perfectly justified!

purehrt555(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love the "HOmegrown Organic." As far as a sleeping horror story, the first time I ever went camping, I was eaten alive by chiggers. Chiggers are little bugs that actually burrow into your skin. I bought every product on the drug store shelf to try to stop the itching! Ugh!
