Back-to-school Preschool Shoe-tacular Review and Giveaway - Baby Bug Designs

Shoes for our little girl are so much more a must than they were for our baby boy. I mean you need different pairs to match all the cute colorful outfits that go along with having a girl. Boys can wear brown shoes with just about anything. I could not find red shoes for our small footed Badger and then I ventured upon a wonderful little Etsy site called Baby Bug Designs. Oh my cuteness! Ruth makes custom order shoes for your little one, boy or girl. She graciously let us try out her Ribbon Bow custom made shoes. As you can see Badger is quite comfortable rolling around in the jump house in them.

You can choose your own color combinations for any of the shoes in Ruth's collection. The Argyle and Monogrammed, pictured here, are unique which you can personalize to make them your child's very own. I mean after all every child deserves their own one of a kind, custom made pair of shoes.

Baby Bug shoes come in four sizes to fit your newborn up to your two year old. The shoes we received were very true to the sizes given on the site.

The high quality faux suede Ruth uses is so soft which I have really appreciated since Badger is not wearing socks with the warmth of the weather, yet they slide easily over socks as well.
The Tough Tek sole is a rubber-coated polyester fabric which grips well even on wood floors. It can be in wet and dry environments, though since the entire shoe is not weather proof I would not advise any dancing in the rain.

Another plus about Ruth and her shoes is that she is a mom like us. Her motivation behind her shoes is that she loves sewing and her beautiful daughter who is adopted. They would like to adopt more children and are using her talent of making shoes to help finance this dream.

Now for the "official" review-based on a 4-star scale:

Design and Ease of Use - *** 1/2 - Ruth's shoes are really adorable and there are currently nine designs to choose from and then you customize them for your child. They are super soft and thus when worn without socks and did have a tendency to slide off Badger's heel when walking on more rough surfaces, like the playground. I will say though that since Badger has been walking much more without assistance the shoes are staying put on her feet.

Materials and Durability - **** - Well thought out use of materials that are baby friendly and durable. They wash super easy and dry even faster. Ruth really puts herself into the quality of her shoes, all the stitching has held up quite well and I love supporting a mom putting it out there!

Cost - $-$$ - Price is great, not one design is over $25, that is competitive.
