Review: Pony Sisters Ponchos

Pony Sisters Ponchos is a solution oriented business that came from the mom of a four year old. I hope y'all are learning something from these kind of businesses they have an idea and they do it. Now my issue is the coming up with the idea or solution! Oh well until then I do love reviewing and seeing what everyone else is coming up with.

For this mom her four year old would not wear a coat and so her grandma made her a loose fitting poncho. Well it must have done the trick because she wore it, problem solved right. I think that is where most of us would stop, but this mom went further with the idea after receiving constant requests when they were out and about regarding the poncho.

We received a cute little gray Sweatshirt Fleece Poncho in XS for our one year old Badger. Before receiving it I was concerned that it would be too big for a new walker and that she might have difficulty getting up and down in it. But that was not the case, it was a great length and not too billowy. One thing I might improve on is to have arm openings. Sometimes Badger was frustrated at the fact that the poncho material was in the way of what she was trying to do. However there are pockets sewn inside of the poncho. Also Badger has a big head, there I said it, my daughter has a 100% head! Therefore I had some difficulty putting the poncho on and off easily. If your child does not like having shirts and the like being put on and off over their head then this also might not be the best solution.

Pony Sisters Ponchos offers five fleece designs and the sweatshirt design that we received. I am not crazy about fleece thus I chose the sweatshirt design and do really like the weight and feel of the material. I hope that they expand on the patterns offered in this line, but that is just me.

Just a note on the picture that is our Flat Daddy in the background, Badger plays with him every morning and wants to say bye-bye to him as we head out the door.

On to the full-review - based on 4 stars:

Functionality *** - If your daughter is one of the ones who does not like a typical coat, being restrained, or just plain likes to have different fashion accessories then this just might be the answer for you. It is easy for the child to take on and off by themselves and those who want to "do it myself". Now if they only made a poncho for a three year old independent boy!

Style ** and 1/2 - Currently offering five patterns in fleece and one pattern in sweatshirt weight material.

Cost ** - This is always difficult and such a personal opinion. The ponchos are all priced at $39.99. I like to compare prices to figure out for me if I think what an item costs is a good price. When I compare in my area the cost of fall/winter coats this is the average price for a down filled toddler coat. So, for me I do feel that for the materials used and the relative simplicity of design it is a bit high.

Overall Rating *** - For many this may just be the solution they are looking for and if that is the case then this is a nicely made and good quality poncho. When my Badger turns four she may just decide that the coat is no longer for her and I will definitely know where to go to find a poncho for her at Pony Sister Ponchos.
