Help Us Solve a Mystery: The Case of the Front-to-Back Double "Jogging" Strolller

We thought we'd try something a little new today. I know that many of you have been in situations at the park or the store or a musuem where you've seen a mom pushing a cool stroller, or carrying her newborn in an unusual sling, and you couldn't wait to get home to research it online only to find out that for the life of you, you just can't find the product anywhere. We've all been there to and hate the feeling as well. It's frustrating and annoying. We've decided to pool our resources and offer some assistance in identifying those "mystery" products.

Just yesterday, one of our readers, Jennifer sent me an email wanting help finding information on a front to back double jogging stroller that she'd seen at the park. I feel a little bad because Jennifer contacted me back when we were just getting started on the new site and I was feeling particularly overwhelmed. I threw out my first idea which was the Phil & Ted's and didn't do much else to help Jennifer locate the stroller she was looking for. Thank goodness Jennifer thought to ask again because I'm in a much better place now and was able to actually give the question some thought.

Here's the info that Jennifer gave us: "It was a "front to back" double jogging stroller, 3 small wheels, color was black. It was very compact looking w/ a rotating front wheel... It is the only one of it's kind I have ever seen out and about. It is not the PHIL & TED. The two children actually sit one in front of the other, but in their own seat. I would greatly appreciate if you can crack the mystery for me."

So, we know it's not the Phil & Teds, but something similar...We did some more thinking and came up with the Jane Powertwin. It's a stroller than I'm not sure I've ever seen on the streets here in Chicago, but saw a couple of last fall in Rome. We also thought maybe it could be the Valco with the toddler seat attached, but after some more talking realized that the Valco has four wheels, not three. I did email Jennifer back with the Jane, and she thinks that it was the one she was looking for. Mystery solved!

While happy about our find, Jennifer is still looking for a front-to-back double stroller and would be interested in any and all feedback or suggestions you could provide for her. If you have any thoughts, please leave a comment here for Jennifer, she'd really appreciate it.

Do you have a "mystery" product you'd like help in finding? Do you just have a question about a product you'd like to know more about? Send us an email to kidbuyproducts@gmail.com. We'll post your questions or "mysteries" here on Saturdays and do our best to help you find that super cool product that you really, really want and are kicking yourself for not asking that other mommy about yesterday at the park. Extra special thanks to Jennifer for presenting us with our first case to crack. We were happy to help!

There are bottles where the nipple is attached as one piece. It was made of a rubber material and soft like moms breast. I asked a lady where she got it and she said you have to order them from the U.K. They had a twist opening at the bottom where you would put in the formula. Do you know what they are?

Thanks for the post!

I would assume they are the Adiri, just google Adiri and you will find plenty of resources, they are widely available in the USA. I am not the biggest fan after using them, but if your little one will only take the breast and you need an alternative it is worth a try.

If you're thinking about the Valco tri twin, that has 4 wheels. But does accomodate a forward facing infant seat that is an attachment. But if you are thinking about a Valco single, that model, I did not review. Maybe this helps by elimination?

We have the Kolcraft Contours Ruby Red Double stroller. It's not a jogging stroller but is large, easy to use, (although it is heavy if you are going to be lifting it in and out of your car). We absolutely love it. You can get it at Babies R Us but wait until you have a 20% off coupon.

I also noticed the other day that Bumbleride has a toddler seat attachment for their Queen Bee stroller which would make it a front to back as opposed to a tandem. I've never seen one in person and don't know how cramped it would be, but it might be worth taking a look. Of course, you know I'm a little partial to Bumbleride strollers. We love our Indie Twin.

We saw ANOTHER option today at Galt Toys Galt Baby out in Northbrook. You can buy a toddler seat for the Baby Jogger, too, which would give you the front-to-back double seats feature. The back seat maybe looked a little cramped and we didn't actually try it out, but even my husband was impressed. He thought it looked like a great option.
