I know fun and first aid aren't typically two things you hear together very often, but this is exactly what me4kidz has accomplished with both their Medibag and Medibuddy. This parent-run company creates products to help you with life's little "emergencies." You know, the ones that seem to inspire the most tears, the scrapped knees, bee stings, bumped noggins, the "boo-boos" where your little one's pride is hurt as much as his little body. It wasn't until I was cleaning out my closet last week that I realized I was even more familiar with me4kidz than I had originally thought. A few months ago, I purchased a little red doctor bag from an online store that was going out of business. I was so excited to have a product that allowed me to store all of my first aid necessities all in one place, but I'd been lucky enough to not need it. I stored it in the closet and forgot about it. Low and behold when I was reorganizing, I discovered that that clever little red "doctor bag" was a Medibag from me4kidz. Like I said, I bought it as a place to keep all my first aid essentials including band-aids, Neosporin, etc. Both of our bathrooms are pretty small (that's city living for you) and we only have the two medicine cabinets to store all of our "necessities" which means that the band aids are in one place, the tweezers in another, and who knows where the Neosporin is? Now they're all in one closet. What was also intriguing about the Medibag is that it comes packed with some of those items that I wouldn't even have thought about going out and stocking up on like gauze pads and sting pads. It also has plenty of the basics making it the perfect starter kit for new parents. Plus, each kit comes with a mail-in voucher for a free refill kit!

Our "sample" product from me4kidz is one of the best little ideas I've seen in a long time. The Medibuddy is a take-along first aid kit that's just the right size for your diaper bag or glove box. It's probably been irresponsible of me to have been doing things like taking my 3-year old to the park without one all this time. The Medibuddy comes stocked with all the items you might need for scraped knees, bee stings, etc. Seriously, I'm excited when I'm the mom who actually has a kleenex or a wet wipe for another mom, let alone a true first aid product. Now, you can impress all the moms at the park when you come to the rescue with sting-free antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and band-aids!

The innovation doesn't end with the Medibuddy either. Me4kidz has a Medibag for Pets as well as a Bandage Buddy box which comes stocked with 26 latex-free band-aids in fun colors and prints. The newest product is the Diaper Bag Buddy which is the same size as the Medibuddy, but includes all the products you would need for a night away from home including shampoo, a one-time use thermometer, and some diaper rash cream. Plus, all the items are organic! Throw this in your suitcase and you'll be ready to go!

Functionality -

• Medibag **** - While the bag comes stocked with all the essentials and includes an offer for a refill kit, you'll enjoy being able to store all of your first aid necessities in one place. The cute red doctor's bag is easy to open, and will hopefully help make the who bandaging up process a little less intimidating for your youngster. These would make an awesome shower gift. New parents aren't thinking first aid in the beginning, but at least when the first little bump or scrap happens they'll be ready!
• Medibuddy **** - Every mom needs one of these in her diaper bag. It doesn't take up much space, and while you hope you never really need it because the park is supposed to be fun, you'll be so relieved that the day doesn't have to be over because someone fell and scraped a knee. You can bandage it up, seal it with a kiss, and continue enjoying your day!

Overall Rating - **** for both! I don't know about you, but I wouldn't say I normally get excited about first aid, and I don't like the idea of my kids getting hurt, but we all know it happens. Real emergencies require the care of a doctor, but for little bumps and bruises, scratches and scrapes, bee stings and minor burns, you'll be glad you have a Medibag at home. For on the go, definitely invest in a Medibuddy. Accidents happen, it's nice to feel prepared.
