Review: Lemon Loves Lime

I can't remember how I first stumbled upon these totally fun clothes, but I'm so glad I did! Nadia is not particularly girly, but it doesn't mean she doesn't like to be fancy. Lemon Loves Lime is the perfect mix of girly cute and comfort, which is exactly the kind of clothes we all want to put our kids in, right? Nadia has been wearing the exquisitely adorable Fox tunic and leggings, and I can vouch not only for the cuteness of Lemon Loves Lime, but also for their comfort and durability. I know those are necessarily the words you search for when you look to buy boutique clothes, but in this economy, it's nice to know that you'll be getting your money's worth!

Lemon Loves Lime is a line of girl's clothing created by a mom who uses the love she has for her own precious daughter as the inspiration behind the designs. I immediately fell in love with her Woodland Friends fall 2008 collection. The animals are so stinkin' cute, and there are just enough ruffles and frills to satisfy the fanciest of girls. Little girls only get to be little for so long, so why not let them wear cute little pink bunnies and blue owls
while they still can. When I pulled out her lilac fox tunic and leggings out of the package, Nadia's first reaction to the hot pink lace was, "Wow, Mom. Can I wear it?" She only has one other outfit that she gets so excited to wear, and that's her frilly ballerina outfit which isn't exactly seasonally appropriate right now. I send her to school in her Lemon Loves Lime outfit knowing that she's warm, comfortable, and happy.

Here's my review, based on 4 stars:

Washability/Wear **** - You already know that I don't like to give special
care to my clothes. I don't have the time or the energy to get disappointed when I ruin something beautiful in the dryer. The Woodland Friends collection by Lemon Love Lime does recommend line drying, but I rolled the dice and haven't had any trouble. The clothes haven't shrunk and the frilly lace still looks just as pretty as the first time Nadia wore the outfit. The colors haven't faded and the lace looks as good as did out of the package. She fell in the mud at the park the other, and I forgot to spray the leggings before I washed them, but they came perfectly clean! The fabric is this stretchy jersey material, but it's much thicker than a t-shirt. I always feel comfortable that Nadia is both warm and comfortable when she wears her "fox" outfit.

Style **** - The Woodland Friends collection is my favorite, I adore the animals, but Lemon Loves Lime also has a Fairy Tale collection, a Cozy Garden even a Holiday collection. There are leggings and tutu skirts to match every collection. These are the clothes I wish that Nadia could wear everyday! I look forward to seeing the spring line sometime soon!

Sizing ***1/2 - Nadia is a very average 3 year old. Yep, I'm saying 3! Her birthday is in just 5 short days! She has a size 2/3 and it's big, but not huge. She'll be able to wear it through the rest of the winter and maybe even extend the wear into next fall. The tunic style gives your daughter a lot of room to grow, but it doesn't look silly if it's a little big, especially with the leggings.

Price **1/2 - A hard one. This is boutique wear, and again, is priced accordingly. However, Nadia is really hard on her clothes and this outfit still looks fantastic, even with at least one wear per week since the first part of October. I've found more than one online boutique offering a set (tunics + leggings) for around $63. Still, not as cheap as a big chain store, but I think you'll be more happy with the quality and how long your daughter will be able to wear the outfit.

Overall Rating ***1/2 - Lemon Loves Lime makes beautiful, but still childlike and fun clothing for your little princess who also likes to get dirty. The fabrics are high quality and super comfortable. I sent my MIL a link to the brown bunny set as a gift idea for Christmas. She's always looking to buy my daughter clothes, and if I can point her in the direction of ones that even Nadia will enjoy opening on Christmas morning, then all the better!
