Just a quick hello, late in the day, I do apologize! We had a wonderful break here and a fun holiday season. Gifts were exchanged, relatives were visited and visited us, good food was made and eaten- no complaints at all. 
In the spirit of Kid Buy Products, I will cut to the chase and let you know, briefly, the favorite gifts we received! Anastasia loves her kitchen sink (which matches her kitchen stove (birthday present)) that we found on “super clearance” from Pottery Barn kids. This, coupled with the Circo, Target-brand bucket of toy food, has been in constant use since she ran tearing across the family room on Christmas morning. So, while we do prefer non-plastic toys….
For Adam, we love his melamine plate, bowl and cup set- in Cowboy-Western style. My parents found it in Wyoming, and I can’t seem to find it online anywhere, not even Amazon!

Alexandra- May I suggest these sets from Baby Cie? They are made of Melamine (BPA-free!) and look a lot like what your parents got. They also have some with French on them for you, the Francophile :)

Laura- I have the princesse set for Anastasia and have been eyeballing some boy ones for Adam, thanks for the link! The selection is great, I've never seen so many Baby Cie products!
