Review: Flying Falcon Infant Car Seat Carrier

If you have an infant who digs their car seat and sleeps contentedly in it wherever you go you definitely need the Flying Falcon. It looks weird and has a corny high-school mascot name, but it's a true back-saver for those who lug their babes to and fro in their car seats.

It's a simple product, one large piece of nylon belt with a shoulder strap that webs around your car seat thus allowing you to carry your car seat over your shoulder. It's crazy how much easier it is to carry the car seat, no more awkward thigh-bruising walks, plus both hands are free.

Full Review Based on a Four **** Scale.

Functionality **** - This is a truly unique product that actually solves a problem that all of us have probably complained about but never imagined a solution for. It literally wraps around the car seat to allow you to carry your car seat hands-free....pretty clever.

Comfort/Adjustability *** - It definitely makes trekking about with your car seat incredibly more comfortable, and the straps are adjustable to allow you to carry the seat at your waist. However, I do feel that the strap could be way more padded and/or wider.

Materials/Durability *** - The straps are basically the same sturdy nylon used for a lot of back packs, diaper bags, etc. Unfortunately, my newest isn't a big car seat sleeper, so I didn't get to give the velcro/adhesives a truly good work out, but they seem very substantial and strong.

Assembly ** - It's not that intuitive to attach. It's basically three big loops that are all attached as one big piece so it's a little confusing.

First, I recommend attaching the velcro pieces to the adhesive pieces. Then I suggest turning the car seat upside down. Loop it around the bottom so that the sewn squares where the loops meet are lined up with the edge of the bottom of the car seat. I know this sounds really confusing but if you have the product in front of you it should make sense. The attached picture may also help.
This allows the shoulder strap loop to go over the top middle of the car seat.

Price **** - At $17 on Amazon, it's a great value. It's a no-frill, totally functional product that I wish I could have used more than I have.

Overall *** - I really think that the Flying Falcon is a great product that actually fills a big need. It's a great shower gift idea.

I now wish even more that I'd gotten to use this with Isaac. I wasn't sure how it was going to work, but it sounds awesome! I'll be spreading the word!

Yes, I'm bummed that Lauren isn't a big car seat gal...it really is a great idea.

This solves my car seat dilema so easily! I used to have a Fisher PRice model car seat that had teh same principle built in...no hand carry handle, just a strap that you used to carry the baby like this. It was more padded, and had no velcro as it was built in. Seeing as Fisher PRice no longer makes car seats, and mine is expired, this will save me!!

used mine a few times and just on the way out the door with my infant who was only a couple of weeks old who I caught in mid air as the car seat seperated from this stupid handle.......looks great but NOT worth it !!!

You can buy these much cheaper at www.preciouscarrier.com. I LOVED using mine. I could hold my one child's hand while carrying the other one. Had no problems at all.
