Review and Giveaway! New Jammies

I love, love, love babies in pajamas. I'm not talking the boring old sleepers that all newborns are forced to wear, I'm talking real pajamas. My kids have way too many pairs, and I purposely feed them messy foods in the morning before I change them into their clothes, just to justify having a different pair for each day of the week! That's why when I discovered New Jammies several months ago, I just had to try a pair. Made out of 100% natural organic cotton, they are a fabric I can feel good about putting on my children, plus, they come in some of the cutest patterns: Fruits and Veggies, Nature's Critters and the new Sporty Kids styles.

Washability and wear **** - You can throw your New Jammies into washer and then the dryer. They require no special care at all. I also didn't notice any shrinkage at all, unlike some other organic cotton clothing that I've purchased. The fabric is soft and thick enough to keep Isaac warm, even during the cold, cold days we've had this winter. The cute little owls haven't faded with the washings, and they fabric hasn't gotten all stretched out and saggy, either. The jammies stretch enough for wear, but bounce right back in the wash.

Style **** - The simple patterns are very bright and colorful. The Fruits and Veggies style comes with an educational book included making them not only cute, but also educational! Isaac has been wearing the Night Owl jammies and they are totally adorable. I'm loving the new Sporty Kids collection, too. Finally, FINALLY, sports-themed clothing that doesn't have the words Lil' Kicker or Lil' Slugger on it! If you're looking to be extra thrifty these days, I think you'll find that almost all of the New Jammies styles could easily be handed down from sibling to sibling and look cute regardless of gender. All kids eat bananas or peas, right?

Sizing **** - Isaac has been wearing the Snuggly PJs style in size 18 months. He's almost 1, if you can believe it, and weighs in at just under 24 pounds. When I first pulled the Night Owl Jammies out of the bag, I thought they looked a little small, but was happy to discover that they were the perfect fit. They are a little long in the arms and legs which is what I would expect in size 18 months, and they have just enough stretch that they fit him everywhere else just right. As we all know, toddlers tend to grow longer, not necessarily out, and I think that Isaac will be getting lots of wear out of this size which is awesome! The Snuggly pjs are available in sizes 12 months to 6. The Nap 'n Play footsies are available in sizes newborn to 18 months.

Price *** - At $28 for the footed jammies and $33-35 for the snuggly jammies, New Jammies are a little bit spendy, but like I said, I love pajamas on little kids which doesn't necessarily make me the best judge of what is too expensive. You're paying for organic cotton and top of the line quality both of which are important. The accurate sizing means that you can more correctly judge which size to buy your child to lengthen the life of the pajamas. With so many gender neutral styles to choose from, you can also bank on being able to pass these jammies down to younger siblings, too.

Overall Rating ***1/2 - Wouldn't New Jammies be a great baby shower gift for the couple who is keeping the gender of their little one a secret? You don't have to just settle for green and yellow sleepers anymore. You'll be giving them a great quality pajama in a fabric they can feel good about putting on their child. Plus, the Fruits and Veggies styles come with a book, too, making the perfect little gift set. If you've got a picky kid who doesn't like to eat their veggies, maybe sleeping in some Pretty Peas Please or Carrot Top Kisses New Jammies will change their mind! Well, at least it can't hurt!
