Review and Reader Discount! Trebimbi Silverware

This is one of those reviews that I could have let Lilly write for herself. In fact, I think I will. To set the scene for you, it is dinnertime on a ridiculously cold February evening in Ann Arbor, Michigan. (That detail doesn't really matter, I just wanted you to feel sorry for me). New, cute Trebimbi silverware are sitting at the table when Lilly comes to dinner....

L: Oh my gosh, mom look at this! (like I might not have seen them yet- where did she think they came from??)
M: Wow!
L: These are so awesem! They even have faces! They can dance!
M: I know- really cute.
L: Look, mom, it's my own knife- Really mine! Can I cut something?
M: What do want to cut?
L: Everything!
And she did.

All reviews use a 4 star scale.

Style: **** They really are cute! Each piece has a cute little face (which apparently makes them able to dance!) and they all connect to one another. Okay, honestly, I am not sure that there is a purpose for the connecting feature, but it is really cute and can amuse a bored kid at the di
nner table while grown-ups talk. Made in Italy, Trebimbi has a whole line of darling dinnerware items, including dining sets which have the silverware, a bowl, a mug and an eggcup (apparently Italian children are way more into hard-boiled eggs than my own children!)

Functionality/Durability: **** I am going to let you in on a little secret here that you might already know- Those cute little, seasonally appropriate spoon and fork sets that you find at my favorite store's dollar section- They are soon going to rust, crack, and have to be thrown away-- very soon. So far, the Trebimbi silverware have held up quite well in the wash. And looking at the way that they are constructed, I would imagine that they will continue to do so. The main body of each piece is made of stainless steel and the handles are made of polypropylene. All are BPA, PVC and Phthalate-free. They are the perfect size for a preschoolers hands as well- Lilly announced a couple of weeks ago that she was giving all of her old silverware (really plastic-wear) to Max because she was "too older for those now", so I was delighted to be able to offer her something in between those baby things and our grown up ones.

Price: *** The set which includes a knife, fork and spoon runs about $20, more than the aforementioned little sets from the dollar spot, but also more durable! If you can't justify the price of these darling items for your own child, do like I do--Buy them as a gift for someone else or tell your mom about them! If you just have to have some right now, visit Goore's and save 10% on your purchase of Trebimbi products with discount code: kbptre.

Overall: almost ****!

Totally can see these in our near Easter future as well! You know "daddy" sends lots of stuff to the munchkins, hahaha.

They really are cute! And there are several other sets with the little faces, too. Currently, Lilly refuses to eat a meal without the "fwends"
