Whining and Dining Review & Giveaway! KABOOST

OK really...this is (to me) the ideal dilemma solver. What do you do when your child has outgrown the high chair, but is not yet big enough for mommy and daddy's chair? Well...now there is an answer. You simply buy the KABOOST.

Click on read more below for the full review and details to win one for your little independent man or woman.

I have been following this company since they first began selling the KABOOST back in November (or so) 2007. After all that anticipation I can easily say this is the only chair booster you need for staying at home or traveling. From the beginning this company came on hard and fast and now is widely known and doing quite well. Yet they still treat everyone like they are a small company just starting out. They stand behind their product because it is their product. They originated the idea and development and now have a highly successful working product.

Some might say that the design is really so simple yet it is not that simple since it has to be extremely durable and pleasing to the eye. As I said earlier the KABOOST is a chair booster, not a booster chair. This is where the key difference comes in. It does not look any different to your child or guests than the other chairs. This to me is the genius part and why I feel like my son never balked at sitting at the table like a big boy and giving up his comfortable and all he had ever known Svan high chair to his ever growing and encroaching little sister. He is able to sit at the table with mommy and daddy in the same chairs we use. In fact the chair to me is even more stable with the KABOOST than without it. I mean can a product get any better? It not only keeps the aesthetic of your dining room, but it also increases the safety of a big chair for your toddler, who we all know will not just sit pleasantly with their back against the chair.

There is essentially no set up other than unfolding the product when you receive it and popping it onto the legs of the chair. Really it is that easy, in other words NO Assembly needed.

All ratings on a four star scale.

Functionality *** 1/2 - The KABOOST is all about function. It is the reason it became an idea to the inventor from observing his nieces and nephews and their desire to sit with the rest of the family in a chair just like everyone else. It is super safe. It allows the child to have independence and actually helps my Dozer to sit longer at the table with us. My only real word of advice is if you have an apron on the table you will be using this most with then measure. All of the measurements for the KABOOST are clearly defined and you can see them by clicking here. I mention this since I did travel with it and my grandma's table has an apron and we were unable to use it with the chairs due to the KABOOST raising the chair too high for Dozer to slide his legs underneath the table. But in this instance he was able to sit in the chair without any help.

Style **** - It is very streamlined and since it is placed on the legs of the chair it also creates no difference in the look you have put together in your home. I mean other than one chair being slightly higher than the others. Which come on people that is so not a big deal to me versus the choices of not so lovely booster chairs that are out there. It is available in four colors green, natural, chocolate, and charcoal. If you like a little pop then go for the green, which I really like. If you want to stick with your design or the color of your chairs as closely as possible then pick a neutral. They also have a nifty travel bag for your KABOOST available.

Price **** - $37.95...come on really that is all. For added stability, your child feeling more a part of the family and autonomous at the same time and clean lines in your home. It is well worth it. Not to even mention how well the product is made. For this price you can have one at your home and one at the next most visited home whether that is family or friend.

Overall Rating *** 3/4 - The reason there is not a four star there is because of the traveling issue of not knowing for sure it will work or not with the table and chairs. I doubt this is a common issue though. My grandma is pretty short and has antique furniture...so you know.

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to the winner, Marcia!

My daughter is so right at that stage of wanting to be in a big chair with out the booster. Why I love it more? I can take her booster to the sitters for my son and not have to buy a third one!!! I love how this will give her the ability to sit in a chair properly, not on her knees.
I like the green colour the best!

5 kids under 6, yeah, I think I need 1 of these... Black looks so sleek even though it is just a "kid thing!"

because it's so simple and easy to use, comes in great colors and even if we forget to remove it, it holds adult weights too!

I would like to have this so that when my grandson comes over we don't have to worry about fixing something up so that he can sit at the table comfortably. I haven't decided between black and charcoal for the color though.

Our very independent little girl does NOT want to be treated differently than adults. This product would help. Yay!

Like others, my 2 1/2 year old thinks she's too big for her booster seat. I love that these are versatile to fit many different chairs. This would save lots of messes for sure!

This looks great. My daughter is going to be at this stage soon. Even though it may not fit every chair it's small enough to be very portable. I like chocolate the best. Thanks!

I have two of my grandchildren living with me and my 4 year old granddaughter could really use this. I also have my other grandchildren
visiting all the time and I would feel so much better with one of these wonderful Kaboost products handy. I just love it and the charcoal is really great! Thank you so much!

I would love this thing! A regular chair is so much easier to clean than the booster seat we've been used to!

These are great. My little guy is just getting to the stage where is he beginning to fight the high chair. I bet in a few more months we will be ready for this. I really like the fact that the KABOOST is actually more stable than the same chair without KABOOST. Thanks for the giveaway.

my favorite reason is that it snaps on the chair in seconds

I love the green one. We live in a very populated area, and booster seats are hard to come by...not to mention how great this would be when visiting friends and family. Great product.

We are planning on a new booster seat for my 23 month old for her birthday. She loves her brother's booster. Anyway, I do not love his booster seat for several reasons that the KABOOST would solve. Conventional booster seat has scratched the wooden seat of the chair it is on, it collects crumbs and my kids have fallen out of it!

Thank you for a great giveaway. My daughter is the perfect age for this. She is too big for the high chair but too small for the regular chair. These are fantastic and come in great colors and are so easy to use. Thank you

I love your series on highchair reviews- honest, thorough and a number of highchairs on the market. How about the stokke and svan? I like the chocolate Kaboost for my 5 year old since it raises him up without looking like a babyish booster

I love how there are two different heights to it..so you can adjust it as your child gets older. And I am not going to worry about it breaking if one of the older kids sit in the chair it's raising. arianiah@hotmail.com

It fits a wide variety of chairs. I like the Chocolate one. jelly15301@gmail.com

I love that it is spring loaded and stays with the chair. I've seen something with the same idea of raising hte chair, but you had to put straps over the cross bars on the chair, which not all chairs have, and it makes it hard to move, the Kaboost seems to clip right one!
thanks for the contest :D

rockpretty said...

Perfect solution for us! We have a table with a low edge and when in a booster she can't be pulled close enough. Certainly way safer then any home made contraption I've created. The chocolate is my fav!

taxchyk said...

This would be perfect for my very tall nephew and his tall wife! The portability is great too.

mail4rosey said...

I like that my son can feel like a big boy sitting at the table, not in a booster. And I like that it holds up to 300 lbs. because that means the chair it's on isn't limited to just the toddler in the house.

My favorite color is natural.
Thank you,

I love this product! My son is at that "independent" stage and 75% of the time, refuses to sit in his booster seat. This leads to him sitting on a regular seat, but with his chin at the table edge. Not very easy to eat like this! I would love to win this!

Annette said...

My 2 year old son refuses to sit in high chairs or boosters anymore. But he's not quite big enough to sit in a regular chair.

I like the green...or the charcoal.

Thanks!

I like that it is easily portable. I have twins, so taking two of these would be easier than two booster seats!

The KABOOST would be perfect for our 2-year-old. Especially for when we visit friends who don't have kids or who have older kids that no longer use "booster seats."

I particularly like that chocolate color. It's such a "grown-up" and non-obnoxious color. And I really love how this product lends itself to a minimalist lifestyle. It's not cumbersome or huge. It just serves its function without taking up much space. I love that.

My daughter is just about at the stage where she's too big for her booster seat, this would be perfect! I think the best features are that it snaps onto a chair in seconds and then stays attached even when the chair is moved, meaning I wouldn't have to think about it. Plus, it's portable so when we go elsewhere this could easily come along.

Thanks!
