Happy Mother's Day!

Not every product we review here at Kid Buy Products is for our children, but we are Kid Buy Products after all which means that almost every review is about products we wouldn't need if it weren't for our kids. Today, we're taking a break from thinking about our children and thinking about ourselves for a change. We have four awesome products to share with you as well as a nice little giveaway to celebrate our one day of the year, so keep reading!

Click on Read More below.

So, I lied just a little in the intro. The first product I wanted to share today is specifically designed for moms. In your pre-baby days, I'm guessing you either didn't have a need for a product to give you the glow that only comes with a full night of rest, or you had the time for making up your face so no one would know that you stayed out dancing until all hours! Rosy Glow Beauty Company was founded to help new moms feel better about themselves as they care for their newborns or even for moms with older children who just don't have the time for a complicated beauty routine every morning. I fall into the latter category. My kids are pretty much sleeping through the night (finally!), but that doesn't mean that I have time for making up my face before we head to the mall or the park or the grocery store in the morning. I love the Get Your Glow Back Eyes and the Rosy Glow Lips for a quick little pick-me-up for my face. I don't know if I look better, but I feel better about myself with just a touch of lip gloss and some moisturizing cream under my eyes. Plus, I'm not wearing any heavy makeup that will sweat off at the park in the afternoon. The Baby Your Face wipes have been invaluable lately as I've had to start wearing sunscreen again. I'm terrible at finding the energy to wash my face before bed, but with the wipes, I just wipe my face and I'm done! You can buy each product individually for about what you would pay for high-end skin care at a department store, or if you have a new mom you want to pamper, Rosy Glow Beauty sells a Get Your Glow Back Pack with all three products and a sleep mask all attractively packaged together in a handy cosmetic bag perfect for travel.

Up next is a product from a mom and daughter run store called Tatutina. They make the most beautiful hand-crafted items, from hand-painted wall pegs and wooden letters to hand-knit sweaters. I got the opportunity to experience the quality and beauty of their items with their one-of-a-kind Take Out Menu boxes. Now that we have kids, we tend to stay in and eat carryout as opposed to packing up our darling children at dragging them to a restaurant. The problem was where to keep all the menus? With the Take Out Menu box, now when I'm too lazy to cook dinner, I know just where to go to find a hot meal. The box is super cute and looks very attractive sitting out on my desk right next to the phone! The box would make a fantastic gift for any busy mom in your life, just stick a gift certificate for a local restaurant inside!

Good ol' number three~ Thymes Bath, Body & Home products. We Minnesotans are lucky to know about this brand already, but I hope I am able to introduce some of you to this wonderful shop.

Thymes Naia Bath and Body products are a fabulous new addition to the Thymes “Momma-gets-to-take-care-of-herself-too” lines of products. Naia is a flowery mix of water lily and cyclamen and a bit of citrus. I only smell the flower, but I trust the Thymes people.

I’ve gotten to use the new Naia line and have loved the body lotion quite a bit. It is a thick lotion and I have used it primarily for my baby-bath-giving hands that we Moms know need extra TLC. The Triple-Milled Soap is my next favorite because I love having a nice smelling soap in my guest bath. The smell from this bar is light and divine. The bath gel is fragrant like the lotion and should give you a nice, day-long perfumey smell. My next-door-cube-mate could smell the lotion on me, liked it, and did not find it overwhelming. Nice!

Also, I’ve tried the Thymes bubble baths before and love them. The Thymes bath products are nicely scented from a wide range of “ingredients”, or as the Thymes people say, “botanicals”. You are sure to find one that will please you.

Lastly, let’s talk pure relaxation. Who does not like a nice soak in the bath with a scented candle burning? Moms, these Tocca candles are top of the line. They are fragrant, but not overwhelming. You do not have to wear the smell like a perfume; you can just be surrounded by it. That’s nice for those of us who have sensitive skin.

Tocca candles are in a simple, clear glass container which will not be noticeable or gaudy in your home. So, on top of smelling nice, they are pretty too. You will find a scent to match your preference with 25 options ranging from floral to fruity to exotic locales.

These Tocca candles have a 60 hour burning time! That is an amazing value for the designer price. I say indulge~ better yet, enter our giveaway to get one of your own from us KBP Moms!

Congratulations to KristiLynn and kathy pease, the winners of our Mother's Day giveaway!

We promised you a giveaway and here it is! There will be two lucky winners today! Our first prize winner will recieve both a Get Your Glow Back Pack from Rosy Glow Beauty as well as a Tocca Candela with the "Florence" scent. Our second prize winner (which will really just be the second name drawn!) will receive a Tocca Candle with the "Montauk" scent. To enter, all you have to do is leave us a comment telling us what made your Mother's Day extra special this year! We'll choose both winners at random using random.org. All comments must be received by 11:59 CST on Monday, May 18, 2009. Winners must be 18+ and a resident of the U.S. to win. Don't forget to check out our giveaway rules here. Thanks for reading and Happy Mother's Day!

It really is the simple things that make my day. My 5 year old whispering in my ear (at 6:30 this morning) - "Happy Mother's Day Mama" , and my 8 year old peeking in the shower saying "I love you Mom - are you having a good day?!?"

I think Mother's day was so special this year because it is only my 2nd year as a mom, so I am really treasuring small moments. I got to sleep the whole night through(which didn't happen last year) and I didn't have any obligations I just relaxed (which may not ever happen again).
:)
Hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day!

My mother's day was extra special because I spent the day with my little brother and mom. My brother and I made a delicious brunch for my mom - Asparagus Frittata, smoked bacon, and french toast with almond butter! Then we played games from our childhood, looked at old photo albums and just had a wonderful day together.
Thank you for the giveaway :)

What made our Mother's Day special this year was the fact that our entire family was together. Last year, we were scattered in different states...this year we were HOME! and it felt great :)

My husband who can't cook ANYTHING said he'd make me lunch. He was going to grill out chicken. Well I reminded him that you need side dishes to go with the chicken and could see the perspiration starting to bead up on his brow LOL So I said just get a few things from the deli. So he served me & the kids the 4 chicken breasts he'd SLAVED over cooking and all the sides still in their deli containers LOL!!!!!

But I'll actually remember it well since it was so sweet of him to try!

my first mother's day... my husband got our 4 mo old up, dressed him super cute and let me sleep in until 10! After presenting me with the sweetest card and having brunch, the 3 of us went to the beach and enjoyed the sunshine (with the baby in the carriage of course). It was the sweetest day and so much better than I could have imagined.

What made it extra special were the homemade gifts that my boys presented me with. They were so giddy with excitement to present me with things they had made themselves. My teenage daughter bought me a hanging plant. I was able to enjoy a potluck luncheon at the park with my brother's girlfriend's family. My niece was kind enough to take me out to eat at Applebee's for supper. All in all, it was a great day.

My daughters, age 9 and 6, made me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. It was a piece of toast with PB. They also tried to make me some coffee, which ended up being water and creamer that they warmed in the microwave. I did take a courtesy sip of it before pouring it out. :)

What made Mother's Day so special this year was that the rain held out so my husband and I could take all 3 of our children AND our 2 feisty dogs to the Lilac Festival. It was something we had planned to do all week but the threat of rain look eminent and we thought it was going to be a washout. It was a fun, bonding day and my husband even got me sushi for dinner which the whole family hates, but they know how much I love it so they endured it for one night! It was a memorable day for sure!
