(Picture is unrelated. Just sweet.)
Ever since the first hints of warmer weather around here (we live in MI, so that is fairly recent of course) my husband and I have been debating what the perfect bike would be for our 3 year old for this summer. She hovers around the 95th percentile when it comes to height, so she has clearly outgrown her Kettler tricycle from last summer- even with the seat in the furthest position, it still looks funny and she has difficulty getting it to go as fast as she would like!
But at the same time she just seems not quite ready for a true, training wheels-on big girl bike, especially since we refuse to purchase the little 12 inch wheeled Dora bike. Shhh...do not even tell her that it exists! Then we decided that maybe a balance bike is the way to go- You've heard of them by now, right? The idea is that you have this bike with no pedals, no training wheels- You just basically propel yourself forward with your legs/feet and then glide. Sounds pretty cool if you are coordinated. And she is. After mastering the balance bike, you are then supposed to move right onto a regular bike with no training wheels. But balance bikes are also pretty stinking expensive, so then we went back to the idea of a bigger bike with training wheels that would last us a little longer. Ugh.
Enter the bike we have been waiting for: The Playskool Glide 2 Ride Bicycle!
In one darling little bike with no gaudy characters, and for just $99, our problem could be solved!
