Review: Nature's Baby Organics

I feel very fortunate that (knock on wood) up to this point in both of my children's lives, they have escaped suffering from any allergies to personal care products. We haven't had any major battles with eczema or rashes, but I know that finding products that are natural and gentle is a priority for many parents, even if their children do not suffer from any skin sensitivities. In the past, parents had to prioritize between buying all-natural and buying products that would actually work! Not any more. As more and more parents become conscious of the products we are using on our children, our choices for all-natural products become more and more common and are of a higher quality. I've recently had the opportunity to experience the products from Nature's Baby Organics. I'm very happy with how well they get my children clean, and I also feel free from that little nagging voice in the back of my head who is always questioning me, ever so quietly, about whether or not I truly feel good about the bubble bath that I'm soaking my babies in. However, as we all know, it's not always just about availability of these products, it's also about accessibility, and I'm here to announce to you today, that Nature's Baby Organics is now being carried at your local Target store! Based on a 4-star scale:

Functionality, otherwise know as Sudsability in this case *** - I'm impressed by the "sudsability" of the products from Nature's Baby Organics. Yes-I made that word up, but you know what I mean. If a product doesn't lather up well, I don't
feel like it's working to get all the grossness off my hard-playing little monkeys. I also like that the line includes the oh-so-convenient shampoo/body wash combo, but also has a leave-in or rinse-out conditioner for older children. Nadia's hair just doesn't do well without a little conditioner, and I'm happy with the results of the Nature's Baby Organics Conditioner & Detangler, even when it's rinsed out. It makes her hair more smooth and less dry and fly-away looking. The bubble bath is a little temperamental for lack of a better word. You really need to use the 2-3 capfuls recommended and have a squeaky clean tub for it to work, but I have found that just one conservative capful has made enough bubbles to coax my little ones into the tub and fill the bathroom with a sweet and "tangy" tangerine scent. You might sacrifice a few bubbles for the peace of mind of your children soaking in an all-natural tub of water as opposed one full of a million chemicals you can't pronounce!

Fragrance **** - I'm a sucker for any vanilla or citrus scented body care products. Nature's Baby Organics has combined the two into a quite delicious scent. My children leave the tub smelling wonderful! The bubble bath as I mentioned is simply tangerine without the vanilla which I love just as much. The body lotion is fragrance-free, although I've found that there's just a hint of a fragrance, but it's not definable, it just smells clean and fresh. If you're not into citrus and vanilla, NBO also offers a lavender/chamomile scent as well.

Price *** - Yes, you can buy body care products that are cheaper. I get that, but I'm basing this solely on the products in the all-natural arena. By now, it goes without saying that you will pay more for all-natural and organic products. Nature's Baby Organics is priced pretty fairly with other all-natural body care products for children. It's maybe a little pricier than some, but less expensive than others. If buying all-natural and mostly organic for your child is a priority, I don't think that you'll be disappointed in Nature's Baby Organics is priced.

Overall Rating ***1/3 - Nature's Baby Organics is not new to the all-natural baby product arena. Designed by a mother who found a need for products for the sensitive skin of her two daughters, Nature's Baby Organics was created both out of love and out of concern for the chemicals that she was soaking her children in nightly. I was impressed overall by how well Nature's Baby Organics works, and while you can expect to pay a little more for all-natural products, I think you'll find that NBO is priced fairly. The best part is that you no longer have to go searching for products that you feel good about putting on your children; you can pick them up on your weekly trip to Target or order online and get free shipping if you spend $50 or more. You can even pick up a convenient travel pack if you're headed on your family vacation or to Grandma's house soon, too!
