A Few of My Favorite Things: Step 2 Push Around Buggy

Grandma scored major points with this gift. The Step 2 Push Around Buggy is probably something I never would have validated purchasing myself, but it has totally taken the place of our stroller for walks through the neighborhood...my youngest LOVES it. And, I think we'll definitely get use out of it for at least another year.

It's quite fun to watch my gal switch into different riding styles. There is the classic "hands at 10 and 2", the "laid-back" with one hand on the wheel and the other arm chillin' on the back of the seat, and the "stand and squeal" when she spies a squirrel or dog. She's not a big honker yet, but enjoys that feature as well.

The storage bin in front is handy for drinks, snacks, keys, a garage opener, and whatever collection of pine cones and leaves the girls conjure up out and about. And, I feel like she's totally secure with the lap belt.

The handle is angled at a perfect height for me. It may be a little short for my 6'2" husband, but he doesn't seem to mind and my 3 yr. old also loves to push her.

I think it's perfect for stable sitters through ~2 years. The biggest downfall is lack of a shade, but that would defeat the fun convertible vibe it's got going. The other negative is it's loud, you can hear us coming from across the neighborhood...I'm sure it's not appreciated by our neighbors who are lucky enough to be able to sleep in on the weekends (but I'm not bitter : ). Like the Step 2 Safari Wagon, which we also love, it would be great if they had some sort of rubber around the wheels to make for a quieter ride and perhaps provide some more cushioning.

The cheapest price I found it new for was $33, but these things always show up in garage sales or Craigs List. If you take a lot of strolls through the hood and have a 6 mo. old, it's definitely worth the investment!

Love it. I hadn't even considered one of these (although I think they are super cute) because Her Highness still likes the stroller. But maybe I will have to spend a little time on CL...

We have one of these that we've kept in the house. Nadia got one for her first birthday and LOVED it! Do you know how many laps we made around and around and around the house that first winter in Chicago? By the time Isaac was born, she was able to do the pushing, thank goodness!
