I'm very excited about today's post. It's for a local mom-run company that I happened across shortly after we moved here to the Seattle area: Happy Hollis Design. I'm sure it's been mentioned before on a previous post, but I live in t-shirts. Nadia very much prefers dresses and leggings to jeans and a t-shirt, but I can't pass up a cute tee for Isaac, let alone a custom-made, hand-sewn beauty! The Happy Hollis Design website just got up and running earlier this month; so, now shopping for these tees is even easier. Click on Read more... below for my full review.

Washability and Wear **** - Isaac's only been wearing his super-cute robot tee for about a month now, but so far, so good. I wash the shirt on cold with all his other clothes and then into the dryer it goes. I didn't notice any shrinking and there's a little bit of the natural fraying around the edge of the hand-sewn design which is what gives shirts like this the worn-in look that I love. Rachael, the mom behind these shirts also custom dyes each tee, adding that final touch of homemade charm, but I didn't have any trouble with the dye in the wash, in case you were wondering!
Style **** - Isaac has been wearing the robot shirt that Rachael
sent for us to review, and it has gotten tons of compliments. On the first day he wore it, my husband came home from work and said, "Wow. That's an awesome shirt. Where did you get it?" I'm not making that up, and he rarely notices what the kids are wearing at all. The lion is another one of my personal favorites, and I got a peek of it in person at a special trunk show at the Tot Spot Cafe in Woodinville, and I'm here to tell you that it is even more adorable in person. You don't get a feel for the dimension and texture in the small photo in her online store, but the pic on her blog does give you a better idea of the texture of this awesome design. She also makes birthday tees and just introduced a whole line of sibling tees, too. The best part about buying from a store like Happy Hollis Design is that each shirt is custom-made, and Rachael takes requests! If you don't see something you'd like to have, you can just let her know and she'll come up with a design for you! Designs are available on hoodies, t-shirts or onesies, too.
Price **** - This is the part that I love most of all about these tees...They are priced at a ridiculously affordable $20! I have yet to come across a completely custom-made t-shirt as charming as the ones made by Rachael at Happy Hollis Design for anywhere near $20. What a super cool gift idea these would be!
Overall Rating - **** - A perfect four stars for the tees from Happy Hollis Design! Handmade cuteness with an easy to care for design and at a crazy affordable price! I'm proud to recommend these mommy-made Pacific Northwest treasures!
