Review and Giveaway! Babalu Touch and Feel Building Blocks

I'm a big fan of the cardboard stacking blocks and was excited to see them taken to the next level by Babalu's newly acquired WJ Fantasy. They offer a wide array of creative stacking blocks with unique themes like the "Do-Re-Mi" musical block set, the "Let's Get Dressed Mix and Match" block set, and the "Touch and Feel" block sets that we received.

We have the "Busy Day" set that covers morning through bedtime on each block. Click on "Read More" for my full review and info. on how you can win your own!

Design ***: This is a set of 10 blocks that stack 34" high. The top block (smallest one) is the wake-up/morning one and each consecutive block goes through the rest of the day.

Each block has a touch and feel side. The age recommendation is 3+, but that's just for them to fully build it. My 1 yr old loves all of her touch and feel books and loves playing with these. She's not into stacking yet, but digs knocking them all down. The illustrations are sweet and it's done mostly in pastels.

Materials/Durability ** 1/2: It's pretty strong cardboard but I feel like it could be a little thicker and a couple of the sides are wrinkled. But, the different textures that are on each block are all unique and well-done.

Price ***: $19.95, totally reasonable in my opinion. It's my personal gift limit. The other sets that they have range from $18-$25.

Overall ***: This is a really cute set that my girls enjoy playing with. I love that they made them more interactive beyond just the stacking part. All of their blocks are really cute and creative.

It's definitely worth checking out the other products from Babalu, like the Felt Tales that Crystal previously reviewed. I'll be reviewing their fun Shadow Books next week. Their products are great because they require imagination vs. batteries and don't have any licensed characters smeered all over. Plus, most of their products are under $25.

Babalu is offering one lucky Kid Buy Products reader the chance to win a Felt Tales or a WJ Fantasy product of your choice. To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is visit the Babalu website and choose your favorite item. Come back here to this post and tell us about you like, and you will be entered to win. All comments must be received by midnight on Thursday, November 18, 2009. Winner must be 18+ and a resident of the United States. You can read the rest of our giveaway rules HERE. Good Luck!
