A Few of My Favorite Things: Green Toys

In honor of Earth Day today, I decided I'd like to share with you one of my favorite Earth-friendly toy companies: Green Toys.  This isn't the first time you've seen Green Toys on Kid Buy Products.  Both Alexandra and Nichole blogged about their experiences with Green Toys and found them to be just as fantastic as I think they are.  You can read all about what makes Green Toys green here, but my love for the toys goes beyond just the materials that they are constructed from.  Let's face it, you're not going to buy a "green" toy if you're going to end up tossing it in the garbage or the recycling after a couple of months.  With Green Toys, you're not only buying a toy you can feel really, really good about, BUT you're also getting a very sturdy toy that will be played with for years to come.  Green Toys sent us a sample of their Sand Play Set.  I love it because it includes the cutest little bucket I've ever seen.  Seriously, I LOVE the rope handle.  Not only is it adorable, but it's also much more practical than the plastic handles on all the other buckets we have.  It only takes one or two trips to the beach for those plastic handles to fall off.  The handle on our Green Toys bucket isn't going anywhere!  Like all Green Toys, the plastic is super heavy duty and is going to stand up to lots of hard play!  While it's true that with many Earth-friendly toys, you can expect to pay a very much inflated price, but I feel that Green Toys are priced very competitively with all those not-so-green plastic toys out there.  You don't feel like your wallet has to suffer in order to buy toys you feel good about.
